Today we are in Salina, KS...waiting out a wind storm. We arrived here yesterday afternoon and set up in Lakeside Resort, a spacious family camping/activity park out away from the freeway. It is closed for the winter, but RV spots are open. We got one tv channel clear (couldn't put up the antenna because of the wind) and watched the election results. It was really something to watch from the Midwest all the results come in, when we knew the polls weren't even closed at home. We had sent our ballots in last week, but it was odd to see states being declared to one candidate or the other....right from the time zone where it was happening!!!
It is sunny and warm today...but oh, so-o-o-o windy! The gusts sometimes rock Sweetbaby a little; imagine what it would be like on the freeway. Wind is supposed to die down tomorrow, and we will be off toward St. Louis, MO. One night will be mid-Missouri, and then we will stay in St Charles, MO at an RV resort that says it is 25 miles from The Arch. It is also rated 5* by our RV book; this should be pretty fancy!!! We plan to stay there 3-4 days, and see the sights, and then it will be off to Memphis, TN. We'll have to see if Elvis really has left the building!!!
This site is a record of Our Grand Adventure, traveling the US in our motorhome, Sweet Baby. Leaving our home in Portland, OR, we plan to travel the northern states, move into the midwest, and eventually get to Navarre, FL for a couple months. While in FL we will take a Caribbean cruise with our dear friends, Janet and Jerry Kearney. In mid February, we will head west, in a very general way...stopping at lots of places...and wherever our interest takes us!!!
